NAAMA MICHIGAN SEEKS TO ELUCIDATE THE PRECISE OBJECTIVES AND INTENTIONS UNDERLYING THE WHITE COAT VIGIL THAT TOOK PLACE IN THE VICINITY OF BEAUMONT HOSPITAL IN ROYAL OAK.

On October 22nd, the National Arab American Medical Association (NAAMA) orchestrated a solemn White Coat Vigil with the purpose of manifesting solidarity with our colleagues who have unfortunately found themselves within conflict zones, through no fault of their own. This initiative was strategically designed to raise awareness about the formidable challenges encountered by healthcare professionals operating in regions afflicted by armed conflict, and to extend support to humanitarian endeavors aimed at alleviating the suffering of patients in the Gaza Strip.

Our resolute conviction, shared by colleagues of all backgrounds and affiliations, is that the sanctity of the healthcare domain must be preserved, irrespective of the ongoing conflicts. Hospitals, ambulances, and the individuals who comprise the healthcare workforce should never become targets of violence. We steadfastly stand in support of those who, in the pursuit of saving lives, place their own at risk.

Given our status as healthcare professionals, it is paramount for us to stand in unity and uphold the confidentiality inherent to our field while safeguarding the well-being of our fellow practitioners. We earnestly hope that the entire healthcare sector will unite against such acts of aggression, regardless of their source, and we express our profound gratitude for the unity and unwavering dedication displayed by our colleagues.

In our capacity as a professional organization representing medical practitioners, we maintain an unshakable belief that advocating for the well-being of healthcare workers in their professional milieu is an incontrovertible stance that transcends all facets of life.

Covid-19 Update

We are receiving many questions about the covid19 vaccines, so I will attempt to answer some here. Many people are wondering when and where they can receive it. This is more or less how it works: the federal government has set prioritization guidelines, given the current limited supply of vaccines. These guidelines have the goal of keeping healthcare systems running, and protecting the most vulnerable, in an equitable way.
