Dr. Tamam Mohamad President

With more than 15 years of experience, Tamam Mohamad, MD, delivers expert care to patients in need. At Heart & Vascular Institute in Dearborn, Detroit, and Southfield, Michigan, he specializes in internal medicine, cardiology, and interventional cardiology. Dr. Mohamad strives to help patients preserve their heart function and maintain their independence.

Dr. Mohamad graduated from Damascus University Faculty of Medicine in Syria. He then performed his residency in internal medicine at Detroit Medical Center. Dr. Mohamad extended his experience in cardiology through two fellowships at the same location. 

At Heart & Vascular Institute, Dr. Mohamad is a recognized expert in cardiovascular genetic disorders. He's proud to help patients manage their genetic risk factors through preventive care. Dr. Mohamad also offers a wide range of interventional procedures. These treatments can help manage or resolve many chronic heart problems. 

Throughout his career, Dr. Mohamad's expertise and skill have earned him several awards. He was named Best Fellow of the Year in the Internal Medicine and Cardiology Department at Wayne State University in 2009. 

Dr. Mohamad’s commitment to patient care and education has won him the respect of his colleagues. In 2012, Dr. Mohamad was voted by his peers as one of Hour Detroit Magazine's Top Docs.

Dr. Mutee Abdeljaber

Past President

Dr. Abdeljaber is an allergist-immunologist in Grand Blanc, Michigan and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Genesys Regional Medical Centerand McKenzie Health System-Sandusky. He received his medical degree from University of Jordan Faculty of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years.

Dr. Ghassan Saed
CFO

Dr. Saed has been actively involved with NAAMA for more than 12 years. He served on the Michigan Board of Directors in 2008-Present and was elected in 2014, 2017, and 2018 as the Chapter President. He was elected as the Chief Financial Officer for NAAMA-MI in 2013 and for NAAMA national in 2015. Dr. Saed helped organize and chaired many national and international NAAMA conferences and symposia including the Jordan Convention in 2017. Dr. Saed is an Associate Professor of Gynecologic Oncology, Director of Ovarian Cancer Research, and a Member of Molecular Therapy Program at the Departments of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Oncology at Karmanos Cancer Institute and Wayne State University School of Medicine. Dr. Saed is an internationally renowned clinical and translational investigator, who is recognized for many scientific contributions within the fields of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and Gynecologic Oncology

Dr. Said Issa President-Elect

Dr. Issa is an Ophthalmologist and in private practice at Laser Vision Care Center in Dearborn heights. Dr. Said Issa received his undergraduate and master’s degrees in public health from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor. He received his M.D. from Michigan State University School of Medicine.  He completed his residency training in ophthalmology at Kresge Eye Institute at Wayne State University and a fellowship in refractive surgery at the Windsor Eye Institute. Dr. Issa is currently the medical director and chief surgeon at Laser Vision Care Center, practicing comprehensive ophthalmology. Dr. Issa is also a co-founder and co-director of Globel Education Excellence.  He is an active member of many local and international boards in both medical and educational organizations, including Eversight International and Gifted Life.

Dr. Amine Zein
Vice President

Dr. Zain is an Invasive cardiology. Board certified in Cardiology, Internal medicine, nuclear cardiology and echocardiography. Under graduate at California State University Northridge. Medical School; Western University of health Sciences. Residency and fellowship: Michigan State University/Garden city Hospital.
